Art
& Design I
Prerequisite
for all other art courses. Basic concepts of
design necessary to appreciate, analyze and
create works of art effectively. Intro to
drawing, painting, art careers, and art of
various styles, eras, and cultures. There will
be required exhibits and community
projects.
Art
& Design II
Emphasis
is on design and social aspects art work.
Traditional to contemporary styles are explored.
Continued development of 2-dimensional styles
and techniques. Sculpture is taught with an
emphasis in clay. Study of art history and
design development includes the Ice Age to the
Renaissance. There will be required exhibits and
community projects.
Art
& Design III
Further
study of 2-D and 3-D styles, including
traditional crafts and folk arts such as batik,
fiber art, block print, paper making,
metals/glass and photography. Design concepts
stressed. The study of art history and design
include the Renaissance to the present. There
will be required art exhibits and community
projects.
Art
& Design IV
The
course will include exploration of the
contemporary art world, including the local area
and applied advanced techniques. There will be
units of independent study in either dimension
according to the individual student’s
interest. There will be required art exhibits
and community projects.
