HIGH

  • Lunch time Prom Planning Meeting in room 208 on Wednesday, February 8th.
  • Mandatory National Honor Society Meeting will be Friday, February 10th at Noon sharp.
  • Student Council Meeting today at Lunch in room 302.
  • It is Winter Carnival.  Once again, students in each grade level will be competing against one another throughout the week.  Points will be given for dress up days, a lunchtime dodge ball competition that will begin Wednesday at noon with the Seniors vs. the Freshman, and various games that will take place at the assembly Friday afternoon.  Start off the week by participating in the first dress up day:  Wardrobe Overload—Put on some extra socks, add another t-shirt, or load up on accessories.  Later in the week you’ll be voting for your class sweethearts and then we’ll wrap up the week with a dress up dance on Saturday from 9:00-11:45.  The cost is $4.
    • Tuesday—Seeing Double –You and a friend become twins from head to toe
    • Wednesday—Fake an Injury
    • Thursday—Say Ya to Da U.P.-Show off your Yooper Pride and heritage:  camouflage, hunter orange, etc.
    • Friday—Hematite Pride-Show your pride for the Ishpeming Hematite and deck yourself out in blue and white!
  • HOSA Students will be selling cans of “Crush” for $1.00 in the cafeteria on February 7th, 8th and 9th.  Write a secret message to your “Crush” and it will be delivered 7th hour on Valentine’s Day!


MIDDLE

  • Mandatory Builder’s Club Meeting will be Tuesday, February 7th in room 211 in the High School.  If you can’t attend, please see Miss Sullivan.
  • Dress up days for Winter Carnival 2012 are as follows: February 6th – 10th
    • Tuesday—PJ Day
    • Wednesday—Favorite Team Apparel Day
    • Thursday—Twin Day
    • Friday—Favorite Color Day—Dress head to toe in your favorite color
  • Grades 5-8th :  Valentine Grams will be on sale in the lunchroom on Tuesday, February 7th, Wednesday, February 8th and February 9th for $1.00.  Write an appropriate message to a friend, teacher, a person you admire or even yourself!  Valentine Grams will be delivered (with a sucker) on Valentine’s Day during your 7th hour class.
  • Talent Show Reminder:  All participants need to be prepared at rehearsal with any props, music, etc. that they need.  All acts must be polished by Wednesday. 
  • 2nd Quarter incentive forms and $2.00 fee are due by Thursday, February 9th to attend the tubing event!!  Bay Cliff candy bars and hot cocoa will be sold at the middle school tubing event.  Please bring money if you would like to purchase a snack.

ALL

  • Auditions for the musical The Music Man will be Wednesday, February 8th at 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the Chorus Room.  Any student interested in helping with the musical as backstage crew, assistant director, props, costumes etc….Please see Mrs. Grazulis.
  • The Girl Scouts are offering the 2nd Annual March Madness, March 2-4, 2012 at Manistique High School and also their Leadership Conference will be Saturday, April 21st at Stevens Point.  If you want more information on these upcoming events, please stop in the office.
