Jared Koski, 32 years of age, is the Ishpeming golf coach and is always looking for student athletes that are looking to becoming successful at a life long sport. He has been coaching golf for five years and is now going on his sixth. When coaching a student he looks for someone that is willing to give him the effort like in any other sport, commit to the team and make themselves better. Mr. Koski’s philosophy: Athletes have to be strong mentally and physically and have to put in the time to be successful. He has been playing golf for twenty-five years. He got started in golf when he hit his first golf ball and it shot straight down the fairway, he loved the feeling and went back for more.

Mr. Murray Kostamo, a 1948 graduate of Ishpeming High School donated 10 sets of golf clubs, bags, golf balls, and a practice net to the Ishpeming High School boy’s and girl’s golf teams. The golf team would like to express their gratitude to Mr. Kostomo for his generosity in donating equipment that will be put to use by student athletes!
