Hematite fans, it’s with great pride that we announce the creation of the Ishpeming School District’s Halls of Excellence Award. The Ishpeming Public Schools have a tradition of excellence that is unparalleled for a school district of our size. Excellence is the basic DNA of all Hematites and we hope to recognize those Hematites who were exceptional during their years in school or who later in life, added to the prestige of the Ishpeming Public Schools.
The “Halls of Excellence” is an all-inclusive annual award intended to recognize and promote the excellence of the students, staff, alumni, and supporters of the Ishpeming Public Schools and to recognize accomplishments in academics, extracurriculars, and life achievements.
If you know of an individual or team who should be recognized, we ask that you nominate them by completing a nomination form and submitting it to the Ishpeming High School Office, either in person or by mail (319 E. Division Street, Ishpeming, MI 49849). To be eligible for the award all nominees must have attended the Ishpeming Public Schools as a student, served as an educator or coach, and/or otherwise contributed to the prestige of the Ishpeming Public Schools. When in doubt, please proceed with the nomination.
Selection of the first group of inductees into the Halls of Excellence will be made in April and
inductees will be recognized during a ceremony which will become part of our annual IHS 4th of July Homecoming activities.
Nomination forms are also available at the ticket counter at all future home games. Help us in recognizing our Hematite excellence by nominating deserving individuals and teams.
