Ishpeming Online Academy

The Ishpeming Public School District is now offering an online accredited curriculum for grades K - 12.  Our online academy is a tuition free program, providing a high quality personalized educational experience with the flexibility to learn on your own time.

Similarities to a traditional setting:
  • State certified instructors
  • Tuition free program
  • Follows traditional school year schedule
  • Michigan aligned curriculum
  • Adheres to state required assessments
  • Awards a Ishpeming High School Diploma
  • Must adhere to the 23 high school graduation credit requirements established by the Ishpeming Public School District.

Differences from a traditional setting:
  • Schooling takes place at home, on the road or at an alternative location where there is internet access.
  • Receive an individualized schedule, to include support from a certified instructor.
  • Access to a wide variety of courses

Who Qualifies for the Ishpeming Online Academy?
  • Homeschool students
  • Students with health issues
  • Gifted and talented students
  • Students who feel bullied
  • Working students

Guidelines to consider
  • Ability of being full-time or part-time online, or in the traditional in-house setting
  • Must participate in all required state assessments
  • Must be scheduled for at least 5 traditional classes in-house to participate in extracurricular activities
